During the project’s implementation four pilot Smart Open Innovation Urban Ecosystems were created to become seeds towards sustainable smart cities for better quality of life through the creation of internet-based services that will improve citizens’ daily life.
The PEOPLE pilots and the pilot services were created in the four participating pilot cities: Bilbao (Spain), Thermi (Greece), Bremen Technology Park (Germany) and Vitry sur Seine (France). The pilots are highly networked in order to enhance the total impact by creating synergies and increasing knowledge generation and uptake.
Implementation (2) pilot projects to facilitate access to the center of Thermi and provide information on air quality issues. More specifically, will implement a project for measuring, recording and presentation of air pollution within the limits of the municipality and a project update residents and visitors about available parking spaces that exist in municipal parking lots. It will also establish interactive information stations (interactive infokiosks), in selected parts of the city so that residents and visitors to the area can use via the internet, so these applications and other services that will be developed within the European project PEOPLE.
