Technical Assistance for Airborne, Satellite and Ground Based Measurements during THERMOPOLIS Campaign

The research project THERMOPOLIS 2009, aims in an in-depth study of the urban heat island of Athens. The research expedition combines qualitative data collection based on geographical coordinates of hyper-spectral instruments that collect data from the air (flying aircraft), data from satellites and measurements from instruments on the ground (from fixed weather stations and mobile stations). With these data Athens is mapped and each micro-region is characterized based on the radiation balance and balance of energy flows.

Design and δevelopment of an ιnternet αpplication for sharing information related to the sites of accelerometers under NERIES


The project is part of the NERIES, I3, FP6 of the European Commission project and includes analysis, design, development and installation of an Information System and an Internet Application for storing, administrating and presenting (through the world wide web) information related to the sites of accelerometer stations in the greater European region.

“Installation of a wireless broadband network and electronic tourism value added services in the Prefecture of Rodopi”, Prefecture of Rodopi Consortium: DRAXIS ENVIRONMENTAL S.A – INFO TRIP S.A. – DOTSOFT S.A.

The aim of the project was the development of innovative location-based e-services for citizens and visitors of the area over public wifi hotspots and the internet. The project included software development, hw procurement and installation, training and support services for the authorities.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM of WATER QUALITY AND OPTIMISATION OF OLIVE TREES CULTIVATIONS WITH CONTROL of DACUS EXTORSION WITH GIS IN KAVALA PREFECTURE

The project constitutes an intergrated system of environmental monitoring that focuses in two basic sectors, water quality and dacus extorsion in olive trees cultivations. At the same time it focuses also on the citizens, providing them precious environmental information.

Research projects

  • GEOKLIMA - "Design and Development of a climate G.I.S." (2011)

    The project “Geoclimate” aims at developing an integrated Geographic Information System which will have the potential for management, analysis, modelling and visualization of the information that is related directly or indirectly with the climate of Greece, the factors that determine its time evolution from the past to present as well as the projections in the near future.

  • EDHE - "Hellenic Network of Solar Energy” (2011)

    The project  aimed to design and develop an integrated system for real time monitoring of the available solar potential in Greece, to produce detailed solar energy maps and to predict solar energy in short term periods. 

  • CASSANDRA - "A multivariate platform for assessing the impact of strategic decisions in electrical power systems" (2012)

     Project CASSANDRA aims to build a platform for the realistic modeling of the energy market stakeholders, also involving small-scale consumers. CASSANDRA will not provide another tool for visualization. Rather, it will provide users with the ability to test and benchmark working scenarios that can affect system operation and company/environmental policies at different levels of abstraction, starting from a basic level (single consumer) and shifting up to large consumer areas (i.e. a city).
